What is meant by a “stage n” mod when tuners talk? Eg, “stage 2 turbo”?
Basically, when looking at tuned cars and tuner shops, and online forums, sometimes people talk about say a “stage 3 clutch package” or something like that, and I’m wondering if there is a clear definition of what that involves, or if it’s simply a case of “stage 3″ > “stage 2″ and is just jargon.
The only other thing I can think of is references to “stage n” in, say, the Gran Turismo games, but maybe (probably) I’m just ignorant about this. Basically, would like to know if there’s a precise definition, and an idea where this terminology came from, Thanks.
To be honest, most of it is just jargon. Turbo Kit “stages” are typically unique to the turbo kit manufacturers. There are no general “stages” for turbo kits when speaking in generalities. Most people who use that type of jargon are indeed fast and the furious or gran turismo fanboys. and no, i’m not just being rude. Hope that helps and clears up any confusion.
